Starting at Cove wash TH sidewinder begins on the (.8) mi precipice trail. Precipice & sidewinder makes a five-mile out-and-back from the trailhead. Most of the trail is straight-ahead cranking on smooth narrow singletrack. Sidewinder is also a good addition to the barrel roll trail. The trail has spectacular views of Ivin’s Red Mountain. And there are parts of the trail that overlook a good chunk of the Santa Clara River Preserve.

Parking Lot:
Heading West In Santa Clara there is a bridge located at Gates lane, 200 ft. before the Jacob Hamblin House. Head south over the bridge, Once over the river follow this road & take a left of the paved road onto the dirt road that goes uphill. It is recommended that your vehicle has high clearance on this dirt road. You’ll head up the road towards a water tank, and then past it to the parking lot that is obvious.
